The client offers a flexible and fully integrated homecare
management system.
The client has carved a niche for itself in the Home Service
domain in the UK and successfully executed a number of support project. The
main requirement was 24 x 7 support and automation of the processes.
The client has an application server that provides services to many users to
maintain information about carers (Nurses) and sites (Patients). Schedule is
created for carers and distributed. When carer visits to a site, carer calls to
toll free number from the site and inputs time in. System at the other end
captures site phone number and information entered by carer and stores in
database. This centralized information is sent to individual client on request
so that client can update his own database for further processing. The whole
process required manual interaction.
SCMC has prepared an interface application, which runs on the
same server as the application server. When installed, the application runs as
a background process and can be scheduled using windows scheduler. User can see
icon in the tray (near clock usually at right bottom). On right click of the
mouse, menu is displayed for manual interaction with the application. The
application has functionality like send, receive and reconcile local database.
It maintains log of all errors as well as operations done either manually or
automatically. User can view log by directly opening the log file or from
application itself. The application is highly configurable and flexible to
incorporate all changes required from time to time.
The development of application involved knowledge about
Internet, FTP, interface design, database handling, inter-process communication
and interaction with windows operating system. The boundary and scope of the
application was very huge. SCMC has successfully provided a solution, which
saves a lot of time and manual efforts of the client to complete the daily
task.
